John Chandler

John Chandler is a seasoned fundraising and nonprofit leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning higher education, character development, environmental advocacy, and fitness. He currently serves as Associate Vice President of Philanthropy at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he helps donors align their philanthropic goals with the university’s mission.

Originally from Louisiana, John earned his bachelor's degree in history from LSU in 1995. After relocating to Minnesota, he helped organize an LSU Alumni Chapter, fostering connection and camaraderie among fellow Tigers in the region.

John’s career includes two decades of honorable service in the Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of Major in 2007. His leadership extends into civic and educational spheres, having served as president of the Saint Paul Rotary Club (2018–2019) and the Saint Paul Rotary Foundation (2022–2024). His board service includes a local school board (2014–2021), an educational foundation (2012–2013), and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (2010–2011). He currently serves as president of the local Dollars for Scholars chapter in Minnesota, supporting students in their pursuit of higher education.

John is also a member of the Minnesota Gift Planning Association and the Rotary Club of Saint Paul. Whether working with donors, mentoring students, or building community, he brings a thoughtful, mission-driven approach to everything he does and is delighted to extend that commitment to the LSU Foundation National Board. John and Pamela have three children, including one current Tiger.
