Hydric Soil Identification Course

 

The LSU College of the Coast & Environment is hosting a two-day workshop titled Hydric Soil Identification Course. The course is led by Dr. Jacob Berkowitz, adjunct professor of oceanography and coastal science, and Dr. John R. White, professor of oceanography and coastal science.

Workshop presentations will:

  • introduce the formation and morphology of wetland soil features.
  • outline data collection requirements for proper hydric soil description and identification.
  • examine application of hydric soils to state and federal wetland delineation processes.
  • demonstrate the use of hydric soils indicators for wetland delineation.

Date: October 19-20, 2017, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Location: Room 1070 in the LSU Energy, Coast and Environment Building on Nicholson Drive Extension
Tuition: $500, includes course materials, certificate, box lunches and parking
