LSU is at a pivotal moment in its history.  In 2003, LSU’s administration announced the Flagship Agenda, an ambitious blueprint for a better LSU, capable of ascending to the highest levels of academic leadership among universities worldwide.  But in order to achieve the goals of the Flagship Agenda, LSU needs the financial tools to set these plans into motion.  Particularly important is the need for these funds after the twin disasters of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, as the storms have drastically impacted the budgetary resources of the State of Louisiana.

The Forever LSU Campaign is a direct response to this need, as LSU remains committed to its goal of moving upward in the academic world, despite the adversities with which we’ve been dealt as a community. The Forever LSU Campaign will turn the tide in LSU’s favor, as we expect to raise support for LSU on an unprecedented level between now and 2010. In June 2006, the Campaign announced a monetary goal of $750 million, encouraging all friends and alumnus of LSU to reconnect with their Tiger Spirit and to help LSU reach a new level of achievement as a university community.
